While every reading is unique, as a professional Tarot reader my intention is to offer insightful and empowering readings to all my clients. I see myself more as a Spiritual Mentor or Intuitive Teacher using my knowledge and expertise to help you gain clarity and understanding on your journey.
A common misconception is that the Tarot is fortune-telling and a tool to predict the future. I don’t believe that life is pre-determined. We all have free will, where you can change direction if you do not like the road you are travelling on, hopefully leading to a more positive and desirable outcome. Life is not a straight road and we all have more challenging periods in our life, however, the journey can be made easier by understanding the present energies which can impact on the future. The one constant in our lives is change, which some of us resist very hard as change is not always welcome, particularly when unexpected!
My readings incorporate practical skills learnt from my life experience, combined with my intuitive and spiritual knowledge, bringing the Tarot to life in a way that is easy for you to understand and relate to.
The Tarot is rich in symbolism and wisdom and has from ancient times been used to help people understand the laws of the universe and our relation to these laws. It is a wonderful tool for personal discovery, self-awareness and growth.
It is not clear where the Tarot originated, however it was certainly in existence in the 15th Century in Europe, particularly in Italy and France.
At the end of the 19th Century, Dr Arthur Edward Waite with the help of artist, Pamela Coleman-Smith, developed and designed what is now known as the Rider-Waite Tarot Deck. This is still one of the most popular Tarot Decks today. I do use other Tarot cards but these remain my favourite as I really like the symbolism of each card.
The person seeking guidance channels their energy into the cards and it is my role to interpret the beautiful symbolism in a way that is understandable for you, the recipient. When doing online readings, I start by focussing on your question and channelling your energy as I shuffle. I then draw your cards and create your Tarot Reading.
A tarot reading serves many purposes and there is not a right or wrong way of using the cards; each Tarot reader will work in their own specific style, choosing the layouts they are comfortable with.
A Tarot Deck comprises of 78 Tarot Cards, each with its own unique meaning and symbolism.
The Major Arcana comprises of 22 Cards and the Minor Arcana comprises of 56 cards in four suits, Wands, Cups, Swords and Pentacles.
The 22 cards of the Major Arcana reflect the archetypal qualities or universally understood patterns of behaviour that are present in our life. The 22 cards represent the Fool’s Journey which is a metaphor for the journey through life as we develop and grow. Each Major Arcana card represents an experience we must complete to realize wholeness. The cards contain:-
